Land Acknowledgement: The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, made up of descendants of indigenous people who were taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during the Spanish colonization of the central coast, is is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma (UCSC).
Our Mission
1.
Inclusive
Everyone has a place here. We value diversity, foster identity, and speak up against injustice. We want to give our children the tools they need to foster a more equitable world for their future.
2.
Nature-Based
Outdoors, rain or shine! With nomadic locations, we have the opportunity to explore and learn from various places in beautiful Santa Cruz County.
3.
Cooperative
We encourage our students to work cooperatively in order to expand their knowledge as well as their social skills.
4.
Learning
There is so much out there to learn! We are educators who take on the lens of wonder and awe in order to question, investigate, experiment, and learn alongside your children.
