Any child can enjoy the outdoors in rain or shine, they just need to be well-prepared. We have compiled our recommendations for gear in order to keep your young ones exploring happily with Fern Grove!
Required Items:
- Comfortable, well-fitting backpack with room for all belongings
- Sturdy, comfortable shoes
- Reusable Water Bottle
- Pre-made lunch and snacks, preferably in reusable containers
- Full change of clothing
- Sun hat or warm hat (seasonally dependent)
For Wet Weather:
- Rain Coat with Hood
- Rain Pants
- Waterproof Shoes
- Extra pair of Socks (in pack)
- We HIGHLY RECOMMEND wearing wool base layers on wet and cold weather days
For Warm Weather:
- Sunscreen
- Bathing suit/towel for creek and beach days
- Water shoes recommended
We suggest that all items come labeled with your child’s name or initials in order to help us keep track of your things. If items are lost, we will eventually donate unclaimed items to charitable service organizations.
